RAVENSWOOD TOWNSHIP

Placemaking
Continuing 2017
Ravenswood is a township in decline, despite relatively high tourist visitation.
There is a push among locals to offer something more than the stock-standard "Ye Olde Worlde" offer common to many gold-rush era villages.
Our analysis revealed that there was a distinct lack of common meeting space for locals, and that the pub/hub did not have outdoor area, to host events (such as weddings etc)
Regional Design Service designed a simple, cost-effective plaza to be placed on disused land abutting the hotel; which would be accessible to everyone and used by everyone - a 'Town Square', if you like.
