OAKLANDS MEDICAL CENTRE

Wiradjuri Country

Public / Health Architecture

Continuing 2019

Oaklands is a small rural township which supports approximately 238 local residents (2011 Census) and surrounding rural farming families and businesses.

At present, the nearest GP Medical services are more than 30 minutes' drive away - largely prohibitive for older or less able residents.

Federation Council and Urana local GP Services (part of Murrumbidgee Health) have teamed up with Regional Design service to deliver a facility which is warm, inviting, flexible and sustainable - and one which locals can be proud of for years to come.

We acknowledge the Bpangerang, Wiradjuri, Jaitmatang and Waveroo people on whose country we work and create.

We also acknowledge the traditional custodians throughout Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands where our projects are placed. We recognise their ongoing connection to country, land and waters that were never ceded and pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging.
